HOW WE USE YOUR RESOURCES

OUR LATEST EXAMPLE: A CAREER PATHWAYS PROGRAM AT HERNDON HIGH SCHOOL IN HERNDON, VIRGINIA

The Harraseeket Foundation supports a Career Pathways Program at Herndon High School in a variety of ways, including:

  • A new pilot program we call Imagining Your Future, described here.

  • Providing stipends for students taking unpaid internships.

  • Making donations to Educate Fairfax, the Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) nonprofit foundation, to support stipends at Herndon High School and support to FCPS staff who work on the Program.

  • Helping to coordinate and support workshops, panel discussions and career guides (mentors) throughout the year.

  • Promoting the Career Pathways Program to the Northern Virginia business community.

  • Providing planning and logistics for career fairs, internship fairs, and similar programs.

  • Sponsoring breakfast and lunch for employers, students and administrators school programs

The Herndon High School program is a pilot developed under a partnership with FCPS. We plan to offer this program over time to schools throughout Northern Virginia.

Your time, talent and treasure will help us with this growth and expansion. The result: More students can imagine their future, and act on what they imagine.

We Need Volunteers and Ideas!
