Our Imagining Your Future (IYF) program is more than a mentoring program; more than a career exploration program; and more than workshops, career panels and work experiences. OUR NEW IMAGINING YOUR FUTURE PROGRAM LAUNCHES!
This Spring, we asked every teacher, counselor and coach at Herndon High School to recommend students for our new Imagining Your Future program. We received 58 referrals that highlighted students who would benefit from an additional adult in their lives, workshops and at-work experiences.
OPENING DOORS TO THE COMMUNITY: Mentors helping students imagine their future
This winter and spring, community mentors worked regularly with dozens of Herndon High School students as they prepared for at-work experiences. For seniors, the crowning experience is an “externship,” in which, for a few weeks before graduation, they work at employers throughout Northern Virginia.

Our mission is to support communities that help young people imagine their future, and act on what they imagine. We design and promote community programs that facilitate mentoring conversations, small and large group forums, and at-work experiences that open young eyes to new possibilities.

Caring communities + young people = a powerful combination of mentoring and at-work experiences. Mentors help young people imagine their futures, and encourage them to explore work experiences that test out those possible futures.

Herndon High School opened its doors and invited employers to connect with all its students (9th-12th grade) at the Career Fair.

Harraseeket Foundation invites community groups and employers to help Herndon High School students develop and implement sound plans for rewarding careers. With our help, Herndon High School in Herndon, Va. is building an exciting new Career Pathways Program. This program will improve the lives of students who otherwise would struggle to pursue rewarding careers.
35 Employers Help 400 Students Imagine Their Future
We just kicked off our internship program partnership with Fairfax County Public Schools! We co-hosted a two day internship fair at Herndon High School, where a dedicated and talented staff helped the business community invite the students to experience the workplace.
